Comment:
Progress for AB/Rs (adult beginner/returnees) can be slow at times. Well that’s my excuse. The key focus today in the Busoni piece was on the 3 hardest phrases that I always seem to stumble on. If you know this piece, its the hardest left hand “ornaments”. In spite of the recent focussed practice on the hard bars they need even more detailed work (sub bar level). So I decided to use a sledgehammer on these to finally crack them (hopefully) and so created three new 10-minute study slots for each of them. I reduced the time for the other practice slots on this piece down to two minutes (which felt quite intense, just as you get into your stride it’s on to the next section). During the day I’ve cycled through these three tasks several times. Time for some R&R and check progress on these tomorrow!
