Practice Log for 25/11/2011 at 20:31:26

Started the 42nd cycle of scales around the circle of fifths. Decided to do an audit and note for each scale whether I "know" the notes before pressing a key, any issues that arise when playing 1/4, 1/8th and 1/16 notes in various rhythms and touches, how smooth it is at the fastest speed (1/16ths) and whether I’m stumbling around for the right fingers etc etc….. The reason for this, is that whilst all scales are weaker during the sixteenths there were several that were worse than flakey! So during the course of the week I’ll build up a picture of where I’m at with these. The weakest scales will get some special attention. Today’s set (C and G majors and their minors) were OK even during the sixteenths. Today the main issue for all six being the left hand descending runs during the sixteenths…

Skipped most everything else though (yet again!!!).
