Good session!
Level 1: Did two sets of sight-reading, but these pieces in Hours with the masters book 1 are way too hard!

Level 2: A grade2 ABRSM piece, kind off a contemporary thingie about a cat falling off a roof or something similar.

Level 3: A grade3 ABRSM jazzie thingie called Cha-Cha from 2005.

The Level2 & 3 pieces were just started at the weekend.

Skipped the main scales set but did Hanon and exercises.

Here’s a few screen shots of the windows application I use to manage my practice sessions and generate the blog entries.

The first is the main application showing the list of  practice tasks, the red clock is a count down timer for each task and it automatically moves to the next.   The second shows a date range search of completed tasks….

Scales are now on cycle 27 around the circle of fifths.   I decided to  add a study task for those that are proving difficult. Currently the metronome setting is 74, C#minor is the first candidate for this and so it will be practiced daily for 1 week but at a lower tempo setting (initially).  I don’t like these scales where my weak left hand fourth finger has tricky black notes to hit and moves to make.

Hanon continues to improve and is fun!  I’m quite happy doing just this one exercise and tweaking the tempo up every few days. Currently I’m on a metronome setting of 69 (276 notes per minute), this tempo was not playable without error on Nov-18th.
